Clay Carrington has been in the waffle business since 1997. He's been in the people business all his life, and that's what drew him to
Westfield Bank. Clay was looking for a “people bank” when in 2002 he first decided to become a Waffle House franchisee. “Growing up in Mobile, Alabama, I worked for years with a local bank that I trusted and who I developed a lasting relationship with,” Clay explains.
“I found those same qualities in the folks at Westfield Bank.”
Westfield's willingness to “learn my business and help me feel at home” had a lot to do with his decision to go with a smaller bank, says Clay.
“They made it easy - they approved all the loans I needed to get started within a week. My banking team is as responsive today as when I started with them, and they do it in person. If I have a need, I just call them and it's done…I don't have to think twice about it.”
Now that Mr. Carrington owns three Waffle House locations and is looking to expand further, his relationship with Westfield is even more important.
